HP Indigo 6K+

The HP Indigo 6K+ is the market-leading narrow-web digital label press, printing 30 m/min in four colors on anything from 12-micron films to 450-micron board. With up to seven stations including high-opacity white, silver and security inks, it is the digital engine Vietnamese label converters put next to their flexo lines.

The 6K+ is the July 2025 refresh of the press family that created digital label printing — the WS6000 series — with productivity and reliability upgrades over the outgoing 6K. It prints a 340 mm web (200 mm minimum) with a maximum image of 320 x 980 mm, at 30 m/min in four colors, 40 m/min in EPM and 60 m/min in one- and two-color mode, all at Indigo's signature 812 dpi with 2438 x 2438 dpi HDI addressability.

Substrate range is the superpower: 12 to 450 microns covers pressure-sensitive label stock, shrink sleeves, flexible films, in-mold labels, paperboard and even tube laminate, with no pre-treatment workflow changes between them. Up to seven ink stations run CMYK plus high-opacity white, silver, fluorescents and invisible security inks, with on-press Pantone mixing reaching about 97% of the Pantone book — critical for brand-color-obsessed F&B and cosmetics customers.

The press is built for 24/7 label production, with typical throughput between 100,000 and 500,000-plus linear meters per month depending on SKU mix. A new configured 6K+ costs roughly USD 700,000-1.1 million; used WS6800 and WS6900 predecessors trade at USD 150,000-450,000 and remain a popular entry point for converters testing digital demand before committing.

Vietnam is exactly the market this press was designed for. Label demand from F&B, cosmetics and pharma exporters is growing fast, brands are demanding shorter runs and more versioning, and converters in Binh Duong and Dong Nai industrial belts are adding digital capacity alongside flexo. The 6K+ security-ink capability adds brand-protection work — a real differentiator as counterfeiting pressure grows across the region.
