In cosmetics the carton is part of the product. Buyers judge quality by the board, the colour match and the finish before they open the box. Most serums, creams and lipsticks use a folding carton in bright white board (Ivory or SBS) with lamination, foil or spot UV. Gift sets and premium lines move to rigid boxes with a shaped insert that holds each item.
Fit matters more than in most industries. A bottle that rattles in its carton feels cheap, and a tube that is too tight scuffs on the shelf. Folding cartons typically take two to three weeks after a signed-off sample; rigid gift boxes with inserts take longer. Allow time for one physical sample with your real product before mass production.
